Job Description

Elite Connector partnered with a Machinery Manufacturing client to seek a results-driven and strategic Director of Operations to oversee and optimize their day-to-day operational functions. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in managing assembly operations, sales, P&L, budgeting, and financial oversight, along with a strong ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations and ensure alignment with strategic business goals.
  • Manage full P&L responsibilities, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded.
  • Lead the development and execution of annual budgets in collaboration with finance and executive leadership.
  • Analyze financial statements and operational performance to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Implement and refine operational processes to enhance productivity, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Build and lead high-performing teams, providing mentorship and promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with department heads to set performance metrics and track key KPIs.
  • Identify operational risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Evaluate and manage vendor relationships and contract negotiations.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in operations management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in P&L management and budgeting within a small to mid-sized organization.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive process improvements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in operations management software (ERP) and financial systems.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in machinery manufacturing.
  • Change management or business transformation initiatives.
  • Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
