Position Overview:

The Manufacturing Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring effective execution of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) through cross-functional collaboration and hands-on coordination of manufacturing resources. This role bridges planning and execution by identifying and resolving manufacturing bottlenecks, managing tooling and materials, and maintaining precise process documentation. This role demands someone who can make confident, informed decisions under pressure, drive urgency across departments, and eliminate roadblocks to ensure manufacturing stays on schedule. The ideal candidate is not only highly organized but also unafraid to escalate issues and hold others accountable to meet tight deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do:

· Manage manufacturing floor production flow, material processes, machine schedules, and purchasing to ensure operational alignment and delivery with customer demand.

· Develop, update, and maintain detailed manufacturing documentation, including Process Books, Setup Sheets, Tool Lists, Critical Dimension Sheets, and other relevant materials.

· Submit tooling requisitions based on inventory reviews, usage trends, and production requirements.

· Manage onsite tooling inventory systems by ensuring min/max levels are maintained and aligned with tooling budget controls.

· Stage all necessary components for production (material, tooling, hardware, documentation, etc.) to support timely and efficient job starts and maintain schedule adherence.

· Conduct cycle counts and part counts at the work order level; escalate TAKT time violations to Engineering for resolution and root cause analysis.

· Collaborate with planning and materials teams to ensure accurate availability of components against bill of materials requirements.

· Actively support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and recommending practical solutions with Engineering.

· Assist in tracking metrics such as schedule adherence, scrap rates, rework levels, and tooling performance; escalate trends or anomalies to leadership and support root cause analysis.

· Provide on-the-floor support by acting as a point of contact for machinists/operators to resolve real-time issues related to tooling, setup, documentation, or manufacturing sequencing.

· Facilitate cross-functional communication by participating in daily tier meetings, Gemba walks, or stand-ups to ensure alignment between departments and shift crews.

· Assist in training team members on process documentation, new procedures, or equipment usage as needed.

· Other duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For:

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field from an accredited institution is preferred. Candidates with an Associate’s degree will be considered with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.

· Minimum of 6 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 4+ years in an Aerospace environment preferred.

· Experience in CNC machining and tooling management.

· Ability to manage processes, strong preference for project management experience or certification.

· Working knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), preference for experience with Epicor and strong preference for experience with ProShop.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office software: Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, and PowerPoint.

Even Better:

· Experience in Project Management, Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
