Role Description :

As our Controller, you'll be the financial backbone of our operation, ensuring that our numbers are as strong as our sense of fun! You'll oversee all aspects of financial management, from budgeting and forecasting to financial reporting and analysis. You'll also play a key role in nurturing our vibrant company culture, embodying our core values of People, Love, and Fun in everything you do.

Role Overview:

  • Financial Management: execute, manage and monitor all items and tasks related to accounts payable, purchasing, credit card and bank reconciliations.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure strict adherence to US GAAP standards, maintaining a robust general ledger and chart of accounts.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare the monthly close package and financial statements, and provide insightful analysis.
  • Metrics and Insights: Lead the development and analysis of key financial metrics and KPIs.
  • Process Optimization: Proactively identify and develop recommendations to optimize financial processes, checklists and controls.
  • Policy and Procedures: Foster a culture of accountability through documented accounting policies and procedures.
  • External Relations: Collaborate closely with external CPA firm and provide needed information for financial reviews.
  • Budget Oversight: Lead the Finance and Accounting team to develop, manage, update and maintain the annual budget.
  • Financial Strategy: Oversee cash flow management and strategic financial planning.
  • Risk Management: Identify risks and opportunities to enhance business profitability.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements at local, state, and federal levels.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the Finance & Accounting team, promoting professional growth and excellence.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to create and implement a comprehensive monthly finance scorecard.
  • Maintain, measure and evolve financial KPIs and metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular in-depth financial meetings with senior leadership.
  • Build, develop and manage a high-performing Finance & Accounting team.
  • Cultivate Finance & Accounting as a strategic business partner across all departments.
  • Contribute to annual planning and provide strategic recommendations for revenue growth.
  • Provide and communicate best practices and recommendations for growing the revenue.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Proven experience as a Controller, assistant controller, finance officer or relevant role in a multi-entity company.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP standards and risk management practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and forecasting methods.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to uphold the Momentum Standards and lead by example
  • Strategic thinker with exceptional problem-solving abilities - be solution oriented!
  • Proficiency in accounting software (experience with Gravity Software is a huge +++) and Google Workspace/G Suite.
  • Experience with payroll software is preferred.
  • Extremely detail-oriented with strong time management skills.
  • Ability to coach, manage, and mentor team members effectively.
  • Ability to tell a story with data/numbers
  • In-person collaboration is a must - ability to work fully onsite at our Framingham, MA headquarters.
