Job Title: Temporary Legal Administrative Professional - Litigation Document Project
Location: On-site in San Francisco, CA
Duration: Temporary, 2+ months (potential for extension)
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
Compensation: $25-$32/hour DOE
About the Role:
A long-standing nonprofit legal organization-serving the San Francisco community for over 75 years-is seeking a proactive and highly organized legal administrative professional for a document clean-up and filing project. This is a short-term, in-office role focused on organizing a significant volume of litigation-related paper files.
This is not an entry-level role. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience working with litigation documents in a legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
Review, sort, and organize litigation-related legal documents and administrative files
Identify critical materials for retention, archiving, or shredding
Create and implement a paper-based organizational system from scratch
Work independently and take ownership of the project
Handle confidential and sensitive legal materials with care
Requirements:
Direct experience with litigation documents (case files, pleadings, discovery, etc.)
Background as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or Legal Secretary
Strong organizational and project management skills
Assertive, self-starter who can work with minimal supervision
Comfortable in a paper-heavy, non-digitized office environment
