Job Description

This strategic position is responsible for Demand Planning & Inventory Management of Specialty Materials, primarily to Personal Care market, as well as Distribution of synergistic ingredients manufactured by key Principal Partners, Purchasing and Selling Price Management (joint with the Commercial Director). The individual will focus on strategy, execution, and implementation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop appropriate plans, business processes, and metrics in line with business objectives balancing partner needs including costing, market pricing, and forecasting to optimize service levels, maximize sales while optimizing inventory turn.
  • Negotiate and implement agreements that enhance cost savings, improve service levels, mitigate contractual risks, optimize asset utilization, relationship for exclusive distribution for West USA and Regional expansion, and build/improve overall value
  • Guide strategies to focus on data driven analysis, thorough quantitative and qualitative decision frameworks and consider cross-functional impacts to various collaborators.
  • Develop strong working relationships with suppliers and relevant internal teams to drive sourcing strategies that lower cost and risk to the company
  • Monitor and analyse supplier performance, quality, and delivery to ensure compliance and identify means to improve results.
  • Provide high quality communication for senior management and periodic reporting on current operations and market changes, emerging risks and actionable mitigation plans.
  • Coordinate new item setup in AX/SAP with Accounting
  • Facilitate the development and execution of long-term strategies that will optimize quality, lead-time, technology, risk, and total cost.
  • Identify and use technology, improve processes and systems, and reduce overall cost of ownership and acquisition

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Procurement/Supply-Chain, Finance or another business-related field.
  • 10+ years of related experience inclusive of 7+ years’ experience in managing Distribution supply chain/sourcing activities, including strategy development, procurement, quality management, inventory management, and distribution.
  • 5+ years management experience in progressively challenging sourcing roles.
  • Chemical raw material sourcing is required including silicones for Personal Care and Household products Competitive knowledge of Regional, National, and Global silicones, surfactants, and synergistic ingredient markets strongly preferred.
  • SAP/AX
  • Must be willing travel less than 15% (Domestic & International)
