Salary: 101,400 - 183,300 USD per year Requirements:

• Must have experience in auditing Linux and Windows Operating Systems.
• Possess an IAM Level 3 Certification (CISM, CISSP, etc.).
• Hold a Bachelor of Science in a related field and have at least 8 years of relevant work experience.
• Active DoD TOP SECRET clearance is required.
• Understanding of security controls within NIST 800-53A and NIST 800-171 publications.
• Experience in creating policies and procedures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility of information systems.
• Skilled in identifying risks and vulnerabilities of information systems and creating Plans of Actions and Milestones (POAMs).
• Ability to document system deficiencies and recommend solutions for remediation.
• Familiarity with automated vulnerability scans using Tenable Nessus, SCAP, or similar applications.
• Experience in participating in systems security evaluations, audits, and reviews.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and skills essential to ISSO roles and responsibilities.
• Ability to create System Security Plans, a Security Control Traceability Matrix, and Assured File Transfer Plans.
• Experience with the JIRA ticketing system for task tracking.

Responsibilities:

• I will validate security policies and procedures outlined in the System Security Plan (SSP), customer policies, and regulations, ensuring local policies are followed.
• I will conduct ongoing security reviews and tests of Windows and Linux systems to verify the effectiveness of security features and controls, and work with the ISSM to resolve identified vulnerabilities.
• I will recommend, create, and implement training programs to ensure data users are aware of, understand, and adhere to systems security policies and procedures.
• I will ensure rigorous application of information security/cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices in delivering all IT/IA services.
• I will review vulnerability and compliance scans and create remediation timelines for reporting purposes.

We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Senior Information System Security Officer (ISSO) located in San Diego, California. As part of our San Diego Information Assurance team, you will collaborate with Senior Information System Security Managers and Information System Owners to ensure that IT systems remain compliant with government regulations, frameworks, and standards, such as DFARS, NIST 800-53A, and NIST 800-171. We're seeking candidates with knowledge and demonstrated experience in assessing, securing, and monitoring IT systems, who can work independently and apply proper procedures and processes within their area of expertise. Additionally, you will assist in the development of information system documentation, conduct audits using a variety of tools, and communicate with Government officials for coordination and assessment authorizations.

Pay Range:
The pay range for this position is $101,400.00 - $183,300.00. Please note that this range serves as a general guideline and is not a guarantee of compensation. Factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, and internal equity will be considered when extending an offer.
