Job Description

Product Engineer

Background

Our client is a Seed stage startup that is ready to bring on a full stack engineer to supercharge their core product. They’re pioneering a niche solution that automates the complex, time-consuming sales process in HVAC and construction equipment. With a founding team that has deep expertise and connections in this industry, they are uniquely positioned to make a significant impact.

They are building the next-generation operating system for commercial HVAC suppliers and contractors. In just five months, they’ve launched V1 of their first product and grown revenue 10x. Backed by top HVAC industry angels, their goal is to perfect their first product and continue scaling rapidly through 2025.

We're looking for a driven, experienced full-stack engineer with an eye for product to help build the future of HVAC.

Responsibilities

  • Full Stack Engineering : Design and implement modern, responsive websites, focusing on front-end user experience while seamlessly integrating with back-end services and APIs
  • Product Management & Strategy : Has owned product vision and execution from idea to launch. Experienced in leading sprints, wireframing, and building end-to-end.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Deploy and scale applications on AWS or GCP, optimizing for performance and reliability
  • DevOps Practices: Set up CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and version control workflows
  • Collaboration & Ownership: Participate in architectural decisions, system design, and ensure successful project delivery
  • Leadership: Lead a team of 1-2 other engineers, work with cofounders on roadmapping and sprint planning.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant field
  • Experience: 2-4 years in full-stack development
  • Front-End Skills: Proficiency in TypeScript and Next.js (or React) with an eye for UI/UX best practices
  • Back-End Skills: Experience with Python/Node.js and RESTful APIs; comfortable debugging across the stack
  • Cloud Expertise: Hands-on experience with AWS or GCP in production environments—deploying, scaling, and optimizing high-traffic web applications, including load balancing, autoscaling, and cost optimization strategies
  • Databases: Familiarity with relational (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases
  • DevOps: Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions), containerization (Docker), and version control

Nice to Have

  • Stay up to date with the latest technologies and industry trends to ensure continuous improvement
  • Figma or UX/UI design skills
  • Familiarity with WebSockets, GraphQL, or Kubernetes
  • Experience building SaaS applications
  • Proven track record of shipping AI products
  • Exposure to AI/ML projects

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary : $140-170K, dependent on experience
  • Equity : Meaningful equity package, commensurate with experience
  • Benefits : Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Perks : Free lunches and dinners provided
