OR Surgical Tech III at Jersey City Medical Center summary:

The OR Surgical Tech III assists the surgical team and works directly under the direction of a Registered Nurse to provide patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures. This role requires completion of an OR Technician training program, certification as a Surgical Technician, and at least two years of experience in a surgical setting. The position also emphasizes strong communication skills, multitasking ability, and offers competitive benefits to support employee well-being.

Job Overview:

A member of the surgical team, acting under the direction of a Registered Nurse, who works with the surgeon and RN in delivering patient care and assuming appropriate responsibility before, during and after surgery.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an OR Technician training program
• 2 years of experience
• Must have strong knowledge with general skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
• Must be able to make calls. Must be flexible, able to multitask and be able to work independently

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• Certified Surgical Technician, required
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required with American Heart Association
