Job Description
Greiner Industries is seeking an Industrial Field Services Manager to lead our team of skilled welders, steel fabricators, and industrial technicians in delivering exceptional service on industrial projects. In this high-impact role, you will drive field operations for a world-class steel fabrication and services company with nearly 50 years of local expertise. Backed by the stability and resources of our parent company (IES Holdings, NASDAQ: IESC), you’ll have the opportunity to do meaningful work with tangible results, make a leadership impact on a dedicated crew, and grow your career with a national industry leader. If you are a capable, grounded field service leader who takes pride in safety, quality, and team success – we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities & Outcomes:
- Lead and Develop the Field Service Team: Recruit, train, and mentor a crew of mechanical & electrical technicians, welders, and fabricators (plus a field service scheduler). Foster a team-oriented, safety-first culture where everyone excels and takes pride in their work.
- Project Planning & Execution: Oversee all field service projects from start to finish. This includes preparing estimates and proposals for small projects, coordinating with project managers on larger jobs, and ensuring proper resource allocation and scheduling so that projects meet scope, schedule, and budget targets.
- Safety & Compliance Management: Champion jobsite safety and enforce compliance with Greiner’s and customers’ safety programs. Ensure all work adheres to OSHA 1910/1926 standards and regulatory requirements. Zero accidents and a safety-focused mindset are key outcomes.
- Customer Relations: Serve as the primary interface for field service clients. Coordinate closely with customers to schedule work, conduct site visits and safety audits, and ensure we meet or exceed client expectations. Build strong long-term relationships that lead to repeat business and a reputation for reliability.
- Quality & Process Control: Implement and uphold standard procedures for project turnover and execution. Verify that each project has a complete scope package (materials, man-hours, subcontractors, etc.) and that critical on-site tasks are supervised. Conduct regular project reviews to maintain high quality standards and continuous improvement across all field jobs.
- Financial Performance: Drive the profitable growth of the Field Service division. Manage departmental P&L – actively review project costs, labor hours, and monthly billing on a per-job basis. Identify and address any variances to ensure projects are delivered on budget and contribute to overall profitability.
- Performance Management: Provide clear goals and feedback for your team. Conduct timely performance evaluations, recognize achievements, and address issues constructively. Take disciplinary action, when necessary, in line with company policy, while always aiming to build a high performing, engaged team.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven Field Leadership: 5–10 years of experience managing industrial field service crews (e.g. welders, millwrights, steel fabricators, mechanical/electrical technicians) in installation, maintenance, or industrial contracting work. You know how to lead by example and get the best out of skilled tradespeople.
- Mechanical & Electrical Expertise: Hands-on experience with mechanical projects (piping, millwright work, heavy installation) and at least 1–2 years coordinating electrical projects. Knowledge of electrical codes (NEC), conduit work, and electro-mechanical systems is a strong plus.
- Project Management & Technical Skills: Ability to estimate jobs and plan projects effectively. Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications – and able to teach others to do the same. Comfortable using Microsoft Office and project software (CAD/PDF viewers, etc.) to develop proposals, schedules, and reports.
- Strong Communication & Organization: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with customers, crew, and management. Highly organized, able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Proven ability to delegate tasks appropriately and meet deadlines.
- Safety and Quality Focus: Deep familiarity with industrial safety practices and regulations (OSHA 1910/1926). You maintain a safety-conscious approach at all times and ensure quality standards are never compromised.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional technical training, apprenticeship, or college coursework in engineering, project management or related fields is a plus.
- Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to local/regional job sites as needed. Ability to work both in office and field environments (including occasional lifting or hands-on activity, with or without reasonable accommodation).

Our benefits package provides real protection for you and your family, including health and dental insurance, company-paid life and AD&D insurance, a 401(k)-retirement plan with company match, paid time off, and more.
