Employment Litigation Associate Attorney
Job Overview:
A prominent law firm based in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a driven and experienced associate to join its employment litigation practice. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with a solid foundation in handling workplace disputes and litigation who is looking to work in a collaborative setting that offers both autonomy and team support. The role involves active litigation work, including motion practice and discovery, as well as providing legal guidance on employment-related issues.
Duties:
Handle litigation matters involving workplace discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and related disputes
Draft and respond to discovery, initial pleadings, and pretrial motions
Conduct and defend depositions
Represent clients in both state and federal courts, as well as arbitration forums
Advise on labor and employment compliance, including wage and hour issues and PAGA claims
Collaborate with team members and clients to develop case strategies
Maintain responsibility for multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
Requirements:
2-6 years of experience in employment litigation
Strong background in labor and employment law, with an emphasis on wage and hour matters and PAGA cases
Proven ability to manage cases independently and as part of a legal team
Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical capabilities
Must hold an active license to practice law in California
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Admitted to the State Bar of California
Skills:
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Strategic thinker with the ability to assess risk and deliver practical legal solutions
Highly organized, responsive, and capable of managing deadlines across multiple matters
Comfortable handling client interactions and representing clients in adversarial settings
