Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Location: Mankato, MN

Job Type: Full-Time

Travel Required: Yes (occasional visits to customer and manufacturing sites)

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and driven Electrical Engineer to develop custom electrical and control solutions for a variety of applications. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, cross-functional environment alongside Sales, Applications, Mechanical Engineering, Purchasing, and Manufacturing teams. The position also supports sustaining engineering efforts and continuous improvement initiatives for existing products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design electrical components, wiring harnesses, and subsystems to meet specific customer requirements.
  • Interpret and translate customer needs into clear, functional engineering designs.
  • Develop and maintain accurate electrical schematics and As-Built documentation.
  • Use computer-assisted design (CAD) software to create and manage technical drawings.
  • Release electrical parts and assemblies for production with appropriate documentation and approvals.
  • Support the production team with troubleshooting and engineering-related production challenges.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal departments, vendors, and customers to ensure project success.
  • Participate in sustaining engineering activities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and company procedures.
  • Take ownership of projects and customer accounts, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
  • Perform special engineering projects as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and at least 3 years of electrical engineering experience OR 7 years of relevant experience without a degree.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD LT, AutoCAD Electrical, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in programming or working with programmable logic devices.
  • Ability to travel to customer and manufacturing sites as needed.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic knowledge of power systems.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting line, ladder, and point-to-point diagrams.
  • Strong understanding of customer specifications and technical documentation.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to deliver clear presentations and collaborate across teams.
