Coworx Staffing is hiring a Cost Estimator for one of our top aerospace and defense clients in Middletown, CT! Job Overview:

As a Cost Estimator , you will work under the direction of the Proposal Manager to prepare detailed price proposals. This role involves significant work on proposals, with the team managing over 130 proposals annually. You'll analyze data, prepare cost breakdowns, and collaborate with various teams to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze the scope of work and prepare price proposals using approved methods and source data.
• Create detailed cost estimates, including labor hours, material costs, production hours, tooling, engineering, and other project-related expenses.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to gather necessary data and quotations.
• Utilize historical data and standards to ensure accurate estimates.
• Prepare detailed Bills of Material and maintain organized documentation for reviews.
• Present proposals to supervisors, senior management, and corporate teams for approval.
• Work extensively on proposal preparation and review processes, contributing to over 130 proposals annually.
• Ensure compliance with all government contract requirements and aerospace industry standards.

What We're Looking For:

We are seeking a skilled professional with experience in RFP (Request for Proposal) responses within the aerospace or defense industry. Unlike RFQs, which focus on obtaining supplier quotations and catalog pricing, this role is centered around developing comprehensive proposals that include:

• Labor and material estimates
• Other direct costs
• Period of Performance considerations
• Company financials and scope of supply

A strong understanding of government-based proposals is essential, as we frequently work with contracts that require compliance with FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and DFAR (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation) guidelines. Candidates should be well-versed in Cost & Pricing Data (CAPD) requirements and maintaining full transparency through detailed financial disclosures.
