The academic search team with Doximity Talent Solutions has partnered with Baylor College of Medicine and CHRISTUS Children's in San Antonio in Texas on the national search for a physician leader as Chief of the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine . We are seeking a nationally recognized pediatric hospitalist leader who will bring excellence in clinical care, teaching, team building, and scholarly contribution. The Chief is responsible for developing outstanding leadership and following the mission of the division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine which is to provide excellent service to sick children, families, and referring physicians and facilities.

CHRISTUS Children's is the first and only freestanding academic hospital in San Antonio solely dedicated to the care of women and children. Through their academic partnership with Baylor College of Medicine, physicians and faculty at CHRISTUS Children's are active members of the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor. Baylor College of Medicine is consistently ranked among the top medical schools in the U.S. and has been named the best in Texas for clinical research.

Job Responsibilities

• Provides strong leadership to the division to provide the most outstanding medical care, research, and education possible.
• Recommends division appointments and promotions to the Chair of Pediatrics.
• Stimulates and supports research studies in the division.
• Demands the highest quality of medical care for patients.
• Demonstrates and demands the highest ethical and professional behavior.
• Helps to manage budgets and maintain positive financial performance for the division.
• It is expected that approximately 20% of the division chief’s time will be devoted to administrative responsibilities.

Job Requirements

• The successful candidate would be board certified in Pediatrics and must be eligible for academic rank of associate professor or full professor at Baylor College of Medicine.
• Experience in administrative leadership and mentoring junior faculty is highly desired.
• Exhibit excellence in clinical care and a high standard of academic success
