JOB OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, the Snake Oil Cocktail Company Sales Representative is responsible for prospecting and identifying new client opportunities, creating event catering proposals, specifically bar catering packages, selling and servicing recurring clients, building venue and vendor sales relations, executing events where necessary, and developing lasting sales-generating industry partnerships. The position has responsibility both to self-develop sales leads and to contribute to the larger team and overall company sales success. 

As a part of a sales team structure, this position is a key member of the team in improving productivity and performance on the overall sales goals of the department. We expect the Sales Representative to be onsite at their events, managing and directing onsite staff, when necessary or prescribed to ensure the success of the event. This is a highly visible position both internally and externally and is a valued point of contact for prospective clients. 

This position requires precise attention to details, pressure tolerance, organizational skills and a strong desire to take initiative. This position requires concise communication with co-workers, vendors, and clients. Excellence in customer service skills with a diversified client base must be consistent. SALES RESPONSIBILITIES

Work closely with the Vice President of Sales, Sales & Event team, and the Event Operations Department on sales activities and the execution of successful events at offsite events.

  • Diplomatically communicate with clients, vendors and venues.
  • Create custom proposals for bar services packages, including specialty rental items and/or upsells, while managing client expectations throughout the sales process and close event contracts.
  • Develop, expand and generate sales and service add-on sales items, such as upgraded glassware, mobile bars, experience activations, and other unique event opportunities.
  • Generate new sales inquiries and help build effective systems for sales lead capture.
  • Cold call prospective customers to establish new business and create new relationships.
  • Cultivate the company’s index of contacts and build business synergy with Snake Oil Cocktail sales.
  • Connect with preferred vendors to contract and secure clients.
  • Maintain Snake Oil Cocktail Company on key venue, vendor and influencer lists within the event industry.
  • Sales Representative will attend client events to ensure event execution meets the vision, prospect new business leads at key events, and support any additional add ons.
  • The Sales Representative may be required to participate in the load in or load out of events onsite; connect with vendors as they arrive or depart, as needed.
  • Manage the Snake Oil bar team on site as needed
  • Sales Representative’s ability and efforts to foresee important event details and communicate logistics/program needs clearly between Client, venue, Snake Oil Cocktail Company and vendors is an extremely important function of the position.
  • Sales Representative is responsible for tracking their sales and leads, and for keeping accurate & up to date company sales reports for the team and coming prepared to discuss at weekly sales and operational meetings.
  • Sales Representative is responsible for the timely collection of all rental deposits and other payment for projects they have closed.
  • Sales Representative should be available to speak with the Executive Leadership team regularly to brainstorm new potential leads or channels of business to improve sales and provide reporting data on leads, sales and booking metrics.
  • Collaborate with the Snake Oil Cocktail team for menu ingredients, descriptions and pricing.
  • Maintain an acute awareness of the professional standards of our field team, notice items that need to be addressed and then assign these tasks in a timely fashion.
  • Inform Operations Manager and Executive Leadership Team of repairs or maintenance needs on equipment on a regular basis.
  • The position requires reliable transportation and flexible scheduling which will include evenings and weekends, and some holidays.

  • As a Snake Oil Cocktail Company employee, the position will primarily support offsite event functions, however, duties may be assigned to support the team with other company initiatives or venue support as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned.

SCHEDULE

Office Hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. This is a salaried position with an expectation that Days, Nights, Weekends and Holidays will be required to meet your client’s expectations. This is not a remote position and is fully in person.

  • Ability to lift, stand or sit, stoop, bend, and/or reach, for prolonged periods is required

Job Type: Full-time, Salary plus sales commission

Salary: $68,640.00 - $89,000.00+ per year (base + commission)

Supplemental Pay Types: Commission pay, Bonus opportunities

REQUIRED

  • Event Sales Minimum: 3 years 
  • Customer service: 3 years
