Job Title: Automotive Aftermarket Key Account Manager (Retailer Experience)

Location: Atlanta, Georgia (Remote)

Position Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Director of Sales

Job Summary:

Hengst of North America, a leader in automotive filtration solutions, is seeking an experienced and results-driven Automotive Aftermarket Key Account Manager with a strong background in working with retailers . This role is responsible for managing and growing key retail accounts, developing strategic partnerships, and driving sales of aftermarket automotive parts. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the automotive aftermarket industry, retail sales dynamics, and account management best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Account Management & Sales Growth

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key retail accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying opportunities for product expansion, promotions, and strategic sales initiatives.
  • Monitor account performance, analyze sales data, and implement action plans to maximize sales and profitability.
  • Lead contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and promotional agreements with retailers.

2. Retail Strategy & Business Development

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to increase product penetration and brand presence in retail channels.
  • Collaborate with retail partners to optimize product placement, in-store promotions, and digital sales strategies.
  • Identify and pursue new retail opportunities to expand market share.
  • Work closely with marketing teams to develop retail-focused campaigns and merchandising strategies.

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with supply chain, logistics, and inventory teams to ensure seamless product availability and fulfillment.
  • Work with product development teams to provide feedback on market trends, customer needs, and product improvements.
  • Collaborate with e-commerce and digital marketing teams to enhance online retail sales and brand visibility.

4. Performance Tracking & Reporting

  • Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and customer insights to make data-driven recommendations.
  • Prepare and present performance reports, forecasts, and account updates to senior management.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and track progress against sales targets.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Automotive Technology, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in key account management, retail sales, or business development in the automotive aftermarket industry.
  • Proven track record of growing and managing retail accounts, preferably with major automotive retailers.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive parts, accessories, and aftermarket industry trends.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and develop strategic action plans.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales reporting tools.
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet with retail partners and attend industry events.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with major automotive retail chains (e.g., AutoZone, O’Reilly, Advance Auto Parts, NAPA, or similar).
  • Understanding of e-commerce and omnichannel retail strategies.
  • Knowledge of pricing strategies, promotions, and merchandising in a retail environment.
