Position Overview:
Our client in West Hartford, CT is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their growing accounting team. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and experience managing invoicing, collections, and cash applications in a high-volume environment. Key Responsibilities:
Generate and issue accurate customer invoices in a timely manner
Monitor customer accounts and perform proactive collections on past-due balances
Apply customer payments (checks, ACH, wires, credit cards) to appropriate accounts
Reconcile AR ledger and resolve discrepancies in billing or payments
Communicate with customers regarding outstanding invoices, payment terms, and disputes
Maintain accurate and up-to-date AR records, including notes and follow-up actions
Assist with monthly AR aging reports and cash flow forecasts
Support month-end and year-end closing processes related to AR
Collaborate with internal departments (Sales, Customer Service, Operations) to resolve account issues

Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable or general accounting
Strong understanding of AR principles and best practices
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Great Plains a plus)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate with others
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to manage the full-cycle cash posting experience
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
